We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee civil construction projects in Newark. The ideal candidate brings 7-10 years of experience, including a solid foundation as a Site Engineer, and has successfully managed large-scale developments such as high-rise buildings, commercial complexes, and residential projects. This role demands hands-on leadership across all phases of the project-ensuring timely execution, safety compliance, and delivery of high-quality outcomes in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee end-to-end construction activities from pre-construction through execution and closeout. Supervise site operations, coordinating daily work with engineers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure seamless progress. Develop and manage detailed project schedules, monitor timelines and milestones, and adjust plans to maintain delivery targets. Review construction drawings, specifications, and BOQs, addressing technical challenges and ensuring accuracy in execution. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and local authority requirements. Conduct regular site inspections to maintain high standards of quality control in materials, workmanship, and installation methods. Track project budgets, procurement, labor productivity, and resource allocation to avoid delays and cost overruns. Act as the primary liaison between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to coordinate work and resolve issues. Lead progress meetings and prepare comprehensive site and progress reports for senior management. Proactively identify risks or schedule deviations and implement corrective measures to keep the project on track. Utilize project management software to document project data, RFIs, change orders, and closeout processes. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field. PMP certification or a relevant Master's degree. Prior experience as a Site Engineer is required. Strong understanding of building codes, contracts, and construction regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
