A desire to learn all the nuances of established products from the customer experience and internal processes coupled with a curiosity about hardware, will be essential for success.Key ResponsibilitiesBecome an expert in our products including software, IoT Hardware and integrationsCollaborates with QA group to design, expand, and maintain test plans for a complex software systemKey member of the Product Sprint team and required to actively participate in Sprint ceremoniesEstimate, plan, and coordinate testing activities in conjunction with Agile sprint cadencesDesign test plans, test cases and track defects using Microsoft Azure DevOpsManually test both software, firmware and hardware and across Web (Cloud SaaS) and client-server instancesProactively identify areas where automation can significantly improve efficiency, and lead efforts to design and implement automated solutionsEnsure releases are delivered with quality and reliability by ensuring thoroughness and consistency through SDLC processes and adhering to process controlsMaintain a spirit of continuous improvement by identifying areas of refinement in process, technology, and professional developmentWork closely with Software, Firmware and Hardware Engineering Teams, Product Owner and Technical Support to understand end user interactions and expectations along with technical processes to translate into effective test plansCoach integrated team on QA processes and best practicesResponsible for communicating status of testing activities including dependencies and implications to upcoming milestones and deliverablesConfirm and sign-off on readiness for production releasesPrimary Skills & ExpertiseAbility to coach and mentorExcellent written communication skillsFastidious care of documentationAble to self-manage time to meet commitmentsCreative troubleshooting skillsFlexibility to work a standard work week with occasional eveningsADDITIONAL SUMMARY & POTENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe current product is manually tested and will continue to require such testing for the foreseeable future, but there is an opportunity to improve efficiency by strategically adding automated testing incrementally. The Quality Assurance Engineer will have an opportunity to evaluate current testing requirements and implement a plan to automate testing requirements that will help to streamline the overall testing function. The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:Identify situationally appropriate automated testing tools and technologies while aligning with business strategiesDefine plan for incremental application of testing automationEducate Integrated Engineering Team on automated testing considerations during the software development processWillingness to manually test both software, firmware and hardware while incrementally implementing testing automationKey Qualifications5+ years combined experience in the following:Electronics based QA methodology, processes, and deliverablesTesting of electronics.The 3xLogic office is in Fishers, Indiana. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid model, but fully remote work will be considered based on the individual’s geographic location Preferred QualificationsExperience testing the interdependence of software, firmware, hardware, and third-party integrationsExperience testing Web, Cloud (SaaS), client-server and Mobile applicationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of MS SQL ServerExperience with Windows operating systemsFamiliarity with AWSFamiliar with ADO for Test suite and communication management.Experience working in an Agile modelAutomated Testing ExperienceWe are a nationwide provider of security solutions and an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.
