Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

As a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be an integral part of our Access Control Software Engineering Team, ensuring that our products consistently exceed quality standards. You will delve deep into our products, gaining insights into customer experiences and internal processes to propel the quality assurance efforts within our team. Role Overview In this role, you will: Develop deep expertise in our products, from software to IoT Hardware and integrations. Collaborate closely with the QA team to design, maintain, and enhance test plans for complex software systems. Participate actively in Product Sprint team activities and ceremonies. Plan and coordinate testing activities aligned with our Agile sprint workflows. Create comprehensive test plans, write test cases, and track defects using Microsoft Azure DevOps. Perform manual testing for software, firmware, and hardware across both Web (Cloud SaaS) and client-server editions. Identify opportunities for automation to increase efficiency, leading initiatives to design and implement automated solutions. Ensure product releases maintain high quality and reliability throughout the software development life cycle. Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement in processes, technologies, and personal development. Work collaboratively with Software, Firmware, and Hardware Engineering Teams, Product Owners, and Technical Support to align test plans with user expectations and technical processes. Mentor and guide the integrated team on QA processes and best practices. Communicate the status of testing activities, including identifying dependencies and implications for milestone delivery. Confirm and approve readiness for production releases. Primary Skills & Expertise Proven ability to coach and mentor team members. Exceptional written communication skills and a commitment to thorough documentation. Strong time management and self-organization skills to meet commitments. Creative troubleshooting abilities. Flexibility for a standard work schedule with potential evening requirements. Additional Responsibilities This position requires manual testing, but presents a significant opportunity to enhance efficiency through strategic automation. Identify suitable automated testing tools aligned with business strategies. Develop a phased approach for implementing testing automation. Educate the Integrated Engineering Team on best practices for automated testing during the software development process. Remain willing to engage in manual testing while gradually integrating automation. Key Qualifications At least 5 years of experience in: Electronics-based QA methodologies and processes. Testing electronics products. This position can be hybrid. The 3xLogic office is located in Fishers, Indiana. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid model, though fully remote work may be considered based on geographic location. Preferred Qualifications Experience testing software, firmware, hardware, and third-party integrations. Experience with Web, Cloud (SaaS), client-server, and mobile applications testing. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Familiarity with MS SQL Server and Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of AWS. Experience with Azure DevOps for test suite and communication management. Experience working within Agile development methodologies. Knowledge of automated testing practices.
