About the Role
We are looking for a
Systems Engineer
to join the
Enterprise Connectivity team . This team plays a key role in transforming real-time machine data into actionable insights for customers across the globe. In this role, you will gather, define, and drive the implementation of
connectivity (telematics) features
across Caterpillar's digital platforms.
You will serve as the
bridge between business needs and technical execution , collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge connectivity solutions that power condition monitoring and fleet management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Gather and refine
connectivity feature requests
from customers and stakeholders. Drive features through the entire lifecycle: architecture, development, validation, and delivery. Collaborate with Cat Digital, ICS, and product groups to deliver technical infrastructure and application designs. Create and maintain the
connectivity feature backlog . Participate in
technical design
and solution selection for both onboard and offboard systems. Evaluate and deploy new digital technologies to expand technical capabilities. Provide
clear, concise status updates
to stakeholders and customers. Work closely with development partners to ensure
on-time delivery
of features. Basic Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Experience : Minimum 5 years in systems engineering or related technical role. Location : Must be able to work onsite in
Peoria, IL
3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday). Required Technical Skills
Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and drive complex assignments. Effective communication of technical information across teams and stakeholders. Solid understanding of
systems thinking , technical troubleshooting, and application architecture. Experience in
requirements gathering , documentation, and validation. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of
machine systems and/or telematics/connectivity . Familiarity with
end-to-end connectivity architecture
(onboard to offboard). Experience with
embedded real-time systems
for mobile/off-highway equipment. Understanding of
construction/agricultural equipment
and operations. Experience with
Azure DevOps
for project tracking and feature delivery. Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong collaboration and teamwork across functions. Self-starter mindset with a proactive problem-solving approach. Team & Environment
