All StarZ Staffing is hiring an Emergency Vehicle Technician II (EVT) for an immediate opening at the Bangor Naval Base near Bremerton & Silverdale, WA. We're seeking a skilled technician to perform service, maintenance, and repair on the department's emergency vehicles and specialized equipment. This role requires strong technical knowledge and independent judgment to ensure essential emergency vehicles are kept in peak condition. This is a full-time 9-12-month contract opportunity.
Pay for the Emergency Vehicle Technician II (EVT): $38 - $45 per hour, depending on experience

Emergency Vehicle Technician II (EVT) Duties:
Diagnose & Repair : Diagnose, adjust, and repair a wide variety of department vehicles, emergency equipment, and other machinery, including troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems Comprehensive Maintenance : Perform routine and preventative maintenance, conduct inspections and quality control checks, and ensure a clean, organized work environment Vehicle & Equipment Operation : Safely operate department vehicles for testing, and utilize specialized workshop equipment (like hoist jacks, overhead cranes) and common tools for repairs and fabrication Documentation & Inventory : Prepare and maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, perform data entry for repair activities, and manage physical inventories of parts and supplies Team Support & Compliance : Collaborate effectively with experienced mechanics and staff, provide guidance on vehicle maintenance to ensure fleet readiness, and stay up-to-date on safety guidelines and industry best practices
Emergency Vehicle Technician II (EVT)
Qualifications:
Education & Experience : High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2+ years of mechanic experience (or relevant equipment service/apprenticeship). Automotive degree preferred Licensing : Valid unrestricted Washington State Driver's License. EVT and/or ASE certifications preferred Mechanical & Diagnostic Skills : Strong understanding of internal combustion/diesel engines, common repair methods, and electronic control systems (like engine, transmission, ABS). Skilled in diagnosing and repairing operational problems, including air brakes. Tool & Maintenance Proficiency : Ability to perform preventative maintenance and skilled in using and caring for tools and equipment for vehicle servicing. Safety & Technical Literacy : Strong understanding of safety procedures. Proficient with computers, electronic diagnostic tools, work-tracking software, and interpreting service manuals/diagrams. Communication & Collaboration : Ability to follow instructions, meet scheduling requirements, and work well with coworkers, supervisors, and fire department staff. Specialized Knowledge : Advanced knowledge of fire vehicle maintenance and components, including fire pump troubleshooting and repair preferred Security Clearance : Ability to pass a thorough background check to obtain and maintain required security clearance for base access. U.S. Citizenship : Required for federal contract and base access.
