perioperative nursing ,
OR operations , and

strategic direction
of a high-functioning department and work with
executive leadership
on major service line improvements across the OR, PACU, Central Sterile, and Pre-op areas.
Must-Haves (Non-Negotiable)
Active RN license in the state of Kentucky
(or compact license eligible) Bachelor's degree in nursing , Healthcare Administration, or a related field OR sufficient leadership experience in lieu of degree Minimum of 3 years of progressive surgical leadership experience
(manager-level or above) Strong working knowledge of
perioperative best practices ,
budgeting ,
compliance standards (CMS, The Joint Commission, etc.) , and
infection control protocols Proven experience with
clinical team building, performance management, and staffing strategies
Preferred (Ideal Candidates Will Also Have):
Master's degree
(MSN, MHA, MBA, or similar) CNOR or NE-BC/NEA-BC certification Strong background in
change management ,
surgical scheduling optimization , or
case mix growth Experience with
credentialing and privileging
processes Familiarity with
Lean or Six Sigma
practices in perioperative environments What You'll Lead and Oversee
Strategic Oversight of Surgical Services:
Lead all operations across the
Operating Rooms, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Central Sterile Processing, Pre-Admission Testing, and Same-Day Surgery . Collaborate with the CNO, CMO, and OR Medical Director to ensure clinical performance aligns with system-level goals. Leadership & Personnel Management:
Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations for RNs, surgical techs, sterile processing staff, and support personnel. Foster a positive, accountable culture focused on safety, outcomes, and staff retention. Quality & Compliance:
Ensure all surgical services operate in full compliance with
The Joint Commission ,
CMS , and
AORN standards . Champion initiatives for
OR efficiency ,
infection prevention ,
instrument sterilization , and
patient experience . Fiscal Stewardship & Resource Allocation:
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, aligning financial performance with operational needs. Approve capital equipment requests, inventory controls, and cost-reduction measures without compromising care quality. Interdepartmental Collaboration:
Actively contribute to OR block scheduling, throughput initiatives, and case volume growth in partnership with anesthesia, radiology, and inpatient units. Represent surgical services in senior leadership meetings and system-wide quality reviews. Why This Hospital
