Job Description
This is a critical position within the Systems and Cloud Operations organization. This position will handle Enterprise Systems administration both on Premise and in the Cloud (Microsoft Azure). This position will work closely with the Infrastructure Team, external areas, key customers and other IT teams as well. This position may also be responsible for managing projects.
Essential Duties
Microsoft server security, critical updates and vulnerability patching Server hardware build and configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting Virtualized Server Management Knowledge and understanding of the Azure Cloud Environment related to Server Maintenance, Build-Outs, and Migrations Server inventory tracking, reconciliation and surplus management Active Directory administration, account and security group management Exchange Server / Office 365 administration, mailbox and email group management Knowledge and understanding of Azure Cloud administration including Single Sign-On, App Registrations, System Configurations, Licensing, and Network Connectivity between On-Premise and the Azure Cloud Environment Analyzes development and implementation requirements and makes appropriate modifications to existing systems and prepares specifications based on customer requests Performs needs assessment and recommends or develops system improvements and prepares related documentation Participates in a variety of special projects related to Information Technology Other Job Requirements/Information
This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval. Grade The grade for this position is C44(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a related fieldAND Three years of progressively responsible, professional level analyst and systems experience in a large scale Information Technology environment
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered
Valid drivers license from state of residency Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
3+ years of experience managing and configuring server hardware Operational knowledge of Exchange On-Premise Servers / Office 365 Operational knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Critical Update procedures, and vulnerability remediation Functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, Exchange Server, Windows applications Extensive PowerShell scripting knowledge and implementation of best practices Knowledge and understanding of the Azure Cloud Environment related to Server Maintenance, Build-Outs, and Migrations Knowledge and understanding building, maintaining and monitoring Windows servers Operational and functional knowledge with HP server hardware and VMWare Virtual Servers Experience with Exchange and Active Directory administration Information technology principles and trends Applicable laws, rules and regulations Application development processes and tools Analytical methods and performing needs assessments Analyzing and designing complex systems Communication technical information to a non-technical audience Analyzing processes, information and data Documenting procedures For information related to position-specific essential duties, knowledge and skills, and physical requirements, please click here.
