Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Network Administrator
to join our team for a long-term onsite contract role in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of
10+ years
of hands-on experience in network administration and must reside
in Austin, TX,
or within a
1-hour radius only . This role does
not
require previous state project experience.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support the organization's LAN/WAN infrastructure, firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless networks. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure network security and availability. Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades, including firmware and software updates. Implement and manage network backup and disaster recovery procedures. Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory. Work closely with IT teams to support servers, storage, and cloud networking as needed. Provide on-call support and respond to network-related incidents promptly. Maintain compliance with organizational policies and security best practices.
Required Skills And Experience
Minimum 10+ years of proven experience as a Network Administrator not a Network Engineer . Extensive experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent network hardware and software. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Hands-on experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Proficiency in configuring and maintaining wireless networks. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Additional Requirements
Local to Austin, TX must reside in Austin or within a 1-hour commute. Candidates must be open to working on-site 5 days a week in downtown Austin (78701). No relocation or out-of-state candidates will be considered. W2 only must be eligible to work for any employer (US Citizens, GC Holders, H4 EAD, L2 EAD only). No Network Engineers this role is strictly for Network Administrators.
