Position Description Summary/Purpose:

This position provides routine maintenance services to the University school buildings as well as Residential and Commercial properties.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

Painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical and plumbing work related to building and site repairs and improvements. Flexible work hours Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed. Other Functions :

Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits. Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends. Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort. Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

General trade skills (painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical and plumbing) Ability to use common hand and power tools Ability to follow directions and work independently Ability to maintain proper schedules Strong customer service skills Good communication skills Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity. Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED Five years working experience in the maintenance or carpentry field Special Requirements:

CT Drivers license and insured vehicle Physical and Mental Requirements: Work Environment
