Qualifications
Associate Degree from an accredited community or junior college
Ability to communicate effectively
Five (5) years experience in transportation
A working knowledge of the City of Jackson as pertains to streets, alleys, boulevards, highways, major buildings, and public facilities
Knowledge of school transportation procedures
Certified bus driver
Valid Mississippi Class B driver's license with passenger endorsement
Must be insurable by district insurance carrier
Applicant must submit to and pass drug screening test as outlined by district policy

Bus drivers, office staff, mechanics, and fuel operations Job Goal
To assist in transporting students safely and on schedule to and from school and other school related activities. Essential Functions
Assists in planning, organizing, and supervising the district's transportation program Supervises the scheduling and dispatching of district vehicles and drivers Assists in coordinating bus schedules Assists in developing bus routes and schedules information and coordinates distribution of information to schools and the public Investigates complaints regarding the pupil transportation program and takes appropriate action Assists in the recruitment and selection of departmental personnel Assists with the training, supervision, and evaluation of departmental personnel Assists in maintaining personnel files, payrolls, and other matters pertaining to personnel Performs other related duties as requested or assigned
