Nursing Supervisor
The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Nursing Supervisor. The preferred schedule for this position is 4-10 hour shifts, Monday through Wednesday and Friday, 7:00am-6:00pm. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of assigned nursing staff. They assist with resolution and/or follow-up of patient complaints, maintaining smooth clinic operations, and provides support to facilitate orientation of new nursing staff. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the nursing staff and leads by positive example, demonstrating a supportive culture to team members while working to support operational goals as set by the Organization and/or Director of Nursing. Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of accredited school of Registered Nursing and possess current/valid, unrestricted RN license to practice in the state of California. Previous leadership and supervisory experience is strongly preferred. CPR certification. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to and from work sites. Indian preference. Must be fingerprinted and pass background check. Essential Job Duties: Understanding and ability to perform all duties of a clinic Nurse when requested or as needed. Supervise clinic RN's, LVN's, Medical Assistants and other assigned staff as applicable. Efficiently manage the nursing resources to maintain smooth operation of daily activities and quality of patient care rendered. Coordinate day to day clinic nursing services, including reviewing appointment schedule and making nurse assignments for clinicians, overseeing exam and treatment rooms, and ensuring efficient patient flow. Collaborate with RN Educator in the planning of clinical orientation and ongoing training for the assigned nursing staff. Assure that the nursing staff is trained to perform procedures and nursing tasks as outlined in the Nursing Procedures Manual. Works collaboratively with the Nursing leadership team (Director of Nursing, Nurse Educator) to determine and evaluate staff training needs and observational feedback for process improvements. Conduct performance evaluations, provide clinical guidance, and initiate other personnel actions within established guidelines or as directed by the Director of Nursing. Responsible for ensuring adequate patient care supplies and equipment are available for use and, supporting inventory management (including vaccine management). Ability to perform nursing assessments, treatments, and patient education consistent with clinic policies and scope of practice. Monitor and assess staff performance on a daily basis to maintain productivity, ensure accountability, and support team effectiveness. Demonstrate knowledge base of infection control policies and universal precautions in addition to employee safety guidelines. Responsible for participation and assurance of quality measures, including but not limited to, monthly medication reconciliation (med rooms), medication inventory, crash cart medication and supply counts, ensuring all required in-clinic assigned duties are complete. Participate in quarterly pharmaceutical inspections and other regulatory inspections. Maintain open communication for patients, staff, and administration to be advised of problem solving and informational changes. Acts as a liaison to the Director of Nursing, facilitating communication for situational awareness and support of clinic operations. Ensures regulatory compliance measures are upheld, and is an active participant with site reviews at assigned clinic. Administer immunizations, injections, oral medications, appropriate treatments, and perform venipuncture/capillary draws and IV therapy as needed.
