Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Services Practice working within our power utility sector in Northern California. The position is to be based out of our Walnut Creek, Sacramento, Petaluma, Chico, Redding, Eureka or Fresno Offices. Stantec offers flexible work locations (including working from home), flexible work hours, and a robust compensation and benefit package.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Environmental Planner, you will contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams in all phases of the execution and delivery of utility operations and maintenance projects. You will provide environmental and land use planning knowledge to help with public and private projects on various utility programs. This may include renewable power permitting, siting and licensing of other energy production and transmission projects, environmental impact analysis support, biological and cultural assessment support, CEQA/NEPA support, municipal zoning ordinance review, and land use planning and coordination for environmental projects. To support their project work, Environmental Planners will draw upon their experience with the review of project scope or project descriptions, development applications, familiarity with utility environmental review and permitting assessment processes, and general understanding of local municipal planning. This experience is desired but not required. This position requires strong skills as a self-starter as well as strong attention to detail while having the ability to participate in multiple projects simultaneously. Experience within energy, gas, and transportation projects is a plus. Understanding the release to construction (RTC) process for clients and the ability to direct and work with multiple disciplines is desired but not required. This role will also include support to project management teams on dynamic projects to assist and direct workflow through the environmental review process.

+ Strong research, analysis, and reporting abilities. + Self-directed, excellent attention to detail and quality review of work. + Capability to manage large data sets. + Ability to work on fast-paced dynamic projects and think critically to solve problems in a creative or efficient manner. + Self-starting, team-oriented professional with excellent written and communication skills. + Familiar with review and analysis of scientific data, maps, and drawings. + Familiarity and experience with permitting and CEQA/NEPA. + Must have good driving record and valid driver's license. _Preferred:_ + Utility experience a plus. + CPUC experience a plus. + CEC experience a plus. + Ability to identify opportunities and build relationships with clients.

Education and Experience

Basic/Preferred: BA/BS degree in Urban, Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field. 0-3 years of experience. Optional: Master's degree in Urban, Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field. 3 years of experience Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Pay Range

Locations in MN, VT, & Various CA, NY Areas - Min Salary $ 59,000.00 - Max Salary $ 82,600.00 Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 64,900.00 - Max Salary $ 90,900.00 Locations in NYC & CA (Bay Area) & NJ (RP) - Min Salary $ 74,300.00 - Max Salary $ 104,100.00

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
