ABOUT THE PROGRAM :

HERO (Housing Empowering Recovery from Opioids)

The HERO Program (Housing Empowering Recovery from Opioids) is a DMHAS-led initiative funded by the Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee (OSAC), aimed at supporting individuals in recovery from opioid use disorder (OUD). The program provides housing subsidies and intensive case management to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability who are at risk of opioid overdose or transitioning out of recovery or treatment programs. HERO staff offer flexible, community-based support, including pre-tenancy services such as housing searches and application assistance, followed by weekly case management—minimum monthly in-home visits—to help participants stabilize in housing and build strong recovery support networks.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Program Director

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides direction and leadership within the Team. Ensures clients receive services that are focused on presenting problems and clients’ request for treatment. Directs crisis intervention efforts and intervenes as required. Monitors client meetings, admission, continued stay and discharge criteria. Reviews caseloads regularly to ensure appropriate utilization of services. Oversees hiring, training, and performance management of staff within the program. Facilitates team meetings. Participates in internal and external meetings as needed by program and agency. Ensures client, program and agency documentation is completed in a timely manner and according to program, agency, funder and accreditation/licensing standards. Acts as primary point person for program and provides back up coverage as needed by program and agency. Ensures proper maintenance of vehicles/if applicable. Will collaborate across teams and divisions to improve quality, workflow, and communication to improve efficiency and general outcomes Ensures timely completion of reports. Oversees completion of chart audits. Ensures completion of insurance authorization for services rendered as necessary. Develop and executes marketing plan for program as needed On call coverage during and after program hours as assigned. Ensures proper maintenance of vehicles/if applicable. Participates in committees to improve agency service delivery and quality improvement. Responsible for program budgets and productivity expectations Ensures compliance with regulating bodies. Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Master’s Degree in mental health related field.

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with identified population. Two years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

:

LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or Licensed Psychologist required in state of CT is preferred.

COMPENSATION*:

Starting at $69,168/year min., and up commensurate upon experience.

Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
