Supply Chain Specialist Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Washington, MI. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist – Customs (US/Canada) is responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. and Canadian import/export regulations while optimizing cross-border trade processes. This role works closely with customs brokers, internal teams, suppliers, and government agencies to support seamless, compliant movement of goods across borders. The specialist will monitor regulatory updates, lead customs audits, and implement trade compliance best practices. Requirements of the Supply Chain Specialist Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. 5+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade operations, or logistics. In-depth knowledge of CBP, CBSA, USMCA, and other trade-related regulations. Strong experience with HTS classification, valuation, and FTA application. Familiarity with ACE, CERS, DMS, and customs broker platforms. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills to interface with cross-border teams and external partners. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and other relevant agencies. Oversee and validate HTS classifications, valuation, country of declarations, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility (e.g., USMCA). Work with customs brokers to ensure timely, accurate filings and proper documentation (commercial invoices, BOLs, COOs, etc.). Investigate and resolve customs holds, delays, or discrepancies in coordination with logistics and warehouse teams. Support and lead internal audits, broker performance reviews, and post-entry corrections. Maintain and update SOPs, compliance logs, and internal trade databases. Stay current on regulatory changes and ensure proactive compliance strategy implementation. Collaborate with legal, procurement, IT, and operations to streamline customs-related processes. Assist with license management, bond requirements, and customs policy development.
