This position reports directly to the National Director of Executive Leadership and is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all programs, services, and operations at the site. The main function of these programs is to assist homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in achieving their highest level of independence, including successful transition to and maintenance of permanent housing.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise all programs, services, and operations at the U.S.VETS site.

Evaluate needs, identify gaps, and develop programs to address those needs.

Set annual goals and objectives for the site and ensure their achievement to effectively serve veterans.

Ensure a therapeutic environment in line with the U.S.VETS Mission and Philosophy.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, including the Veterans Administration, local Continuum of Care, housing facilities, landlords, donors, funders, and other agencies to deliver services effectively.

Build relationships with elected officials to advocate for veteran needs and service opportunities.

Supervise the site Clinical and Program Team, overseeing service delivery across all programs, including outreach, case management, clinical/substance abuse treatment, residential care, food services, workforce development, legal advocacy, and more.

Collaborate with clinical and program departments to ensure policies, forms, trainings, and programming models are implemented and maintained.

Supervise the Operations department to maintain organizational integrity and compliance with federal and other regulations, including client care guidelines and legal requirements.

Conduct internal audits and reviews of documentation, protocols, client charts, databases, safety protocols, grant reports, and fiscal controls.

Work with Fiscal and Accounting departments to oversee budget management and ensure the site does not operate at a deficit.

Coordinate with Human Resources and Payroll to oversee recruitment, training, retention, performance evaluations, and time tracking.

Oversee fundraising, communications, and community development in collaboration with the Development & Communications department.

Manage housing development planning and implementation with the Housing Development department.

Supervise facility maintenance and leasing activities with property management partners.

Hold regular meetings with staff and monitor progress towards site, program, grant, and financial goals, reporting to COO and the National Office.

Participate in weekly conference calls led by the National Office designee.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications Requirements:

The position will initially be titled Program Director until the employee meets the training requirements for Executive Director, typically within 3 to 9 months. May report to COO's designee or Acting Executive Director.

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.

Minimum of four years' experience in program management, staff supervision, program development, and budget management.

Leadership and conflict management skills are essential.

Experience working with veterans, homeless, disabled individuals, and culturally diverse populations.

Effective communication skills to work with diverse groups, including clients, staff, and community stakeholders.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and community representation.

Demonstrated integrity and a strong work ethic.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
