VP Small Business Lender (lower Fairfield County, Stamford/Norwalk Markets)
The
VP Small Business Lender
is responsible for making a valuable contribution to the bank's commercial lending sales and Business development by establishing New business development, customer contacts, quoting/developing lending proposals, customer relationship management while contributing to marketing/lead generation and assisting with deposit growth Key Responsibilities Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan Structure loans within loan policy and prepare financing proposals consistent with approval for presentation to the applicant Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations Manage loan portfolio including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio monitoring Originate sound SBA loans that comply with current SBA SOP requirements and Bank policy Develop deposit relationships with new and existing commercial clients Collaborate with credit analysts to prepare loan approval memorandums, including resolving underwriting and application questions with the applicant Stay up to date on all SOP for SBA related products Identify business deposit opportunities and coordinate appropriate internal sales introduction to manage the deposit relationship Position Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or in a relevant field or an equivalent amount of training 5-10+ years relevant experience in a sales role in commercial banking with credit training Strong business development skills with a proven track record of developing and maintaining a high-quality portfolio of small business lendingcustomers Proven ability to profitably and accurately develop quotes/proposals for new opportunities Above average written and oral communication skills to interact with customers, prospects and our internal team Strong customer relationship management skills Demonstrated ability to generate $8-12 million in new loan growth Knowledge of SBA financing (7a and 504) and proven track record of prospecting SBA clients Proficient use of Word, Excel, and CRM Experience working with treasury/cash management products is highly preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
