Cheeca Lodge & Spa
is a 4-diamond resort in the heart of the Florida Keys. We are currently seeking a
Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
to maintain the pristine condition of our aquatic amenities—including
four pools and two hot tubs and scenic lagoon —ensuring a safe, clean, and luxurious experience for every guest. Position Summary:
The Certified Pool Operator is responsible for the daily maintenance, sanitation, and safe operation of all pools and hot tubs across the property. This hands-on role ensures water chemistry meets all health standards, equipment is operating efficiently, and pool areas are guest-ready at all times. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically skilled, and committed to upholding the resort’s elevated standards of cleanliness and presentation. Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspections of
four resort pools and two hot tubs , including water testing, equipment checks, and cleanliness.
Maintain correct
water chemistry
(pH, chlorine, alkalinity) and adjust as needed.
Monitor and maintain filtration systems, pumps, chemical feeders, and other related equipment.
Keep detailed records of maintenance, chemical usage, and test results as required by health codes.
Ensure all
pools meet local and state health regulations , and prepare for any surprise inspections.
Identify and report any issues requiring repair to Engineering leadership.
Maintain clean, organized pump rooms and pool decks.
Support guest safety by ensuring signage is visible and walkways are clear and slip-free.
Respond promptly to any pool-related guest requests or incidents.
Assist Engineering team with general maintenance projects as needed.
Requirements:
Valid Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license
required (must be current).
Minimum of
1 year of pool/spa maintenance experience , preferably at a resort or hotel.
Working knowledge of pool operations, chemical balancing, filtration systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and follow safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining luxury-level standards.
Flexible schedule required, including
weekends and early mornings .
