About the Job: The Business Development Director for (Insert Specified Market) is responsible for developing and closing high-value growth opportunities within the designated vertical market. This role involves creating territory marketing and individual business plans, establishing strong client and vendor relationships, and promoting WillScot's services within the vertical and geographic markets. As a proactive hunter, the BDD leverages data, industry trends, and professional networks to acquire new, profitable customers for WillScot. What You’ll Be Doing:
Prospect and close new potential customers in the assigned vertical market. Develop and execute Go-To-Market plans, identifying key customers and partnerships. Create strategies that address customer challenges and give WillScot a competitive edge. Conduct sales meetings to demonstrate understanding of WillScot’s product portfolio. Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities and mitigate risks. Coordinate with marketing for outreach plans within the vertical market. Negotiate contract terms, master lease agreements, and ensure mutual understanding of expectations and profitability. Transition customer relationships to the account management team smoothly. Collaborate across departments to close deals and grow opportunities. Maintain excellent customer service and foster long-term relationships for repeat business. Prepare proposals and respond to RFPs as needed. Work with Marketing and Design to develop compelling bid documents and value propositions. Education and Qualifications:
10+ years of successful commercial sales or business development experience with proven results. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Proven success in prospecting and securing high-value business in the target vertical. Knowledge of proposal/bid processes, competitive proposals, and lead development. Experience with contract negotiations, cost/price analysis, and large account management. Excellent negotiation and customer relationship skills. Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment across departments. Proficient with CRM systems and adaptable to new technologies. Strong organizational, decision-making, and strategic planning skills. Willingness to travel up to 50% within the US.
