About This Role: Pairwise is seeking a strategic, innovation-focused Director / Senior Director of Product Management to lead and scale our collaboration product portfolio. This executive leader will be accountable for shaping the product vision, life cycle strategy, and go-to-market execution across a growing pipeline of novel agricultural and consumer products. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will ensure cross-functional integration between R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, and partner teams to deliver breakthrough products to market with speed, precision, and impact. This role will drive strategic decision-making on product-market fit, customer value, and commercialization outcomes, and will serve as a key member of the company’s extended leadership team. The ideal candidate combines deep product management expertise with strong business acumen, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a passion for shaping the future of food and agriculture through innovation. Essential Functions: Portfolio Management: · Lead end-to-end product development process from ideation to commercialization, ensuring concepts are grounded in customer needs, market trends, and business objectives. · Define product requirements in collaboration with external partners and R&D to ensure deliverables align with market needs and launch timelines. · Coordinate and partner with internal and external teams to deliver late-stage product development strategies including consumer and channel testing, field trial strategies, and pre-commercial launch planning. · Translate product concepts into differentiated positioning, value propositions, and commercial narratives. Promotion, Pricing, and Go-To-Market Execution: · Build and execute product launch plans for our cane berry portfolio, including cross-functional readiness, channel strategies, promotion planning, and post-launch tracking. · Lead criteria development and process for product advancement from R&D to commercial. · Lead cross-functional go-to-market strategies and execution in close collaboration with commercial team and/or collaborators. · Collaborate with Technology Development regarding trial design and observations to support product concept and value proposition development. · Partner with Marketing and Sales (internal and external) to ensure commercial teams are equipped with compelling materials, training, and support. · Lead consumer research initiatives. · Develop and manage data-driven product pricing strategies to optimize profitability and competitiveness. Enterprise Leadership: · Serve as key liaison between R&D, Commercial, and external collaborators to align technical concepts with go-to-market strategies. · Collaborate closely with corporate communications to ensure an aligned approach to external facing marketing, social media, and communications and to maximize opportunity to highlight products where appropriate. · Drive integrated planning and execution across R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, and Sales teams. · Ensure visibility and accountability for key milestones across functions leading up to and following product launch. · Represent the Product Management function on leadership teams, providing commercial insight into broader business strategies. · Foster a collaborative, execution-focused culture across teams. · Mentor and develop product management capabilities within the organization. Required Education & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Agriculture, Food Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus. · 10-15 years of progressive experience in product management, commercial, or related functions in agriculture, food, CPG, or biotech. · Demonstrated success in developing and launching novel products, preferably with direct experience in high-growth, science-driven companies. · Proven leadership in cross-functional environments and matrix organizations, with executive-level presence and influence. · Expertise in commercial roles including go-to-market strategy, pricing, positioning, and customer segmentation. · Strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and executional discipline. · Exceptional communicator and collaborator with a bias for action and impact.
