About the Role:
Ten One Aerospace is seeking a Supply Chain and Procurement Manager who is excited to apply their experience to customer-facing projects at an innovative space company. As a Supply Chain and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of materials and services while maintaining costs, risks, and supplier relationships, ultimately contributing to the success of the Ten One Aerospace’s operations and product development. You will develop and implement procurement strategies that support and enhance Ten One’s Rendezvous Proximity Operations (RPO) Kits and other Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) capabilities for our customers. You will negotiate contracts and identify, improve, and manage supplier relationships, while aligning with organizational goals and maintaining compliance with regulations. You will provide coordination and leadership to cross-functional internal teams, external suppliers, and subcontractors. You will own all aspects of the procurement and supplier management process and be the Ten One focal responsible for ensuring your Ten One project manager’s satisfaction and alignment with the scope of their customer contracts. You will effectively delegate, guide, and evaluate the performance of direct reports. About the Company:
Founded in 2020 in Washington, DC, Ten One Aerospace provides engineering services and products for the aerospace industry, specializing in astrodynamics, controls, and autonomy for space missions. Our focus is on spacecraft GNC systems and flight software (FSW). Ten One Aerospace is developing a full suite of GNC capabilities for space missions, including RPO and docking across all orbital regimes. Spacecraft RPO is a challenging, highly specialized, multidisciplinary field of aerospace engineering, extending beyond traditional GNC, and it is critical to space missions such as debris removal, on-orbit servicing, refueling, and in-space manufacturing. At Ten One, we aim to make RPO safe and affordable to lower the entry barriers for new space companies and enable a robust space economy. Responsibilities: Manage the complete procurement lifecycle, from quote generation to material delivery. Oversee and provide guidance to team members handling receiving, shipping, and inventory. Ensure successful execution of material management and inventory. Create and execute procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines. Identify, evaluate, and in coordination with your internal customer, select and onboard reliable suppliers. Negotiate and manage supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with TOA customer contractual terms, federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and other regulatory compliance (including ITAR/DFARS). Build and maintain strong relationships with TOA suppliers while fostering collaboration and resolving issues and disputes, with support from TOA Business Development. Facilitate periodic visits to vendor sites to build relationships and confidence in the vendor’s ability to execute. Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with suppliers, ensuring business continuity. Build strong working relationships with internal project managers to define and fulfill procurement needs. Continuously monitor and mitigate issues. Analyze market conditions to inform procurement strategies and decisions. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and optimize the supply chain. Track supplier performance against key metrics (e.g. quality, delivery, cost), conduct regular reviews to ensure technical, cost and schedule execution of current contracts, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation. Provide guidance and support to direct report. Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively. Qualifications and Skills: 8+ years in procurement, purchasing, or vendor management, preferably in the aerospace industry, and at least partially at small companies or startups. Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field (aerospace, systems, mechanical, or other engineering). Experience with aerospace industry standards and regulations. Experience with supply chain management principles and practices. Strong ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. Ability to identify and resolve issues related to the procurement process. Ability to lead and motivate a team, provide guidance and support, and delegate effectively. Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal team members. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other federal procurement regulations. Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g. ERP systems, data analysis tools). Knowledge of Odoo a plus. Desire to work in a small, fast-paced, and innovative aerospace company. Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. Location:
Annapolis, Maryland with opportunity to work remotely at times, and occasional travel to vendor or customer sites as needed (
