Edwards College of Dental Medicine (JBECDM) is recruiting a Program Director for a new Rural General Practice Residency (GPR) Program in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Position Details
Location: Department of Biomedical and Community Health, JBECDM, MUSC Sites: Main clinic in Florence, SC, with smaller clinics in Marion and Lake City, SC Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of clinical training for residents Develop and implement curriculum Evaluate program content, faculty, and resident performance Oversee off-site rotations and maintain education records Handle resident recruitment, interviews, and selection Ensure program compliance with CODA standards Additional Duties
Provide clinical leadership and oversee dental operations Mentor and supervise dental staff, conduct performance reviews Manage program and clinic budgets, monitor financial and clinical goals Didactic and Clinical Instruction The Program Director will oversee virtual didactic courses, weekly seminars, literature reviews, and case conferences. They will also manage resident schedules, serve as an attending faculty, and build referral networks. Minimum Qualifications
DMD, DDS, or equivalent degree; eligible for South Carolina licensure Completion of GPR or AEGD program Application includes a letter of interest, CV, and two professional references Time Allocation
Program Administration: 20% Clinical Instruction: 50% Didactic Instruction: 10% Professional Development: 10% Service/Outreach: 5% Other Duties: 5% Additional Information Salary and rank depend on qualifications and experience. Review begins April 21, 2025; applications accepted until July 31, 2025. Start date preferred by August 1, 2025.
