Base pay range $19.00/hr - $19.00/hr

About Us Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and families in the Washington DC area. The agency includes 19 programs ranging from shelter for homeless youth to service-enriched transitional housing to street outreach, as well as a variety of counseling interventions using a competency-based youth development approach. This position is based out of the

Promise Place

program.

Schedule This position is Part-Time, scheduled for Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 PM to 7 AM EST.

About You

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in psychology, counseling, or social work.

At least 3-5 years of experience working with youth with significant mental health or behavioral challenges, preferably in a residential care setting.

Creative, energetic, problem-solver, with a passion for working with young people.

Possess a valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and obtain/pass required background clearances.

Ability to transport staff and/or clients as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform rounds to engage with youth, facilitate activities, provide counseling and support, and encourage adherence to community rules.

Provide crisis intervention and on-site counseling when necessary.

Maintain supervision of the house, enforce rules, and ensure safety. Conduct regular inspections inside and outside the building.

Manage conflicts, de-escalate, and document incidents.

Coordinate with medical or government personnel as needed, complete documentation including incident reports.

Carry out emergency procedures and drills.

Complete paperwork and data entry as directed.

Produce clear, concise notes and documentation of incidents and observations.

Answer phones, document visitors, maintain house supervision, and ensure rules are followed.

Perform light janitorial duties and notify management of maintenance needs.

Assist with shift coverage and participate in training and meetings.

Maintain all required clearances.

Perform other duties as assigned.
