In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Summary Reporting to the President & CEO as a member of the Honeywell FM&T Senior Leadership Team. This position overseas the entire nuclear weapons and support program portfolio of approximately 1.5B annually. Responsible for managing customer relationships within NNSA across multiple program offices and locally with our Kansas City Field Office. Partnership and collaboration are crucial for working with the Labs, Plants, and Sites as well as NNSA on current and future programs. Additionally, requires routine engagement with Congress, Department of Defense, United States Air Force, United States Navy, United Kingdom and other key organizations or officials. Internally, the role ensures our programmatic milestones and funding is executed on schedule and on budget across the business. Managing and messaging issues, challenges, opportunities, and headwinds is key for transparency and mission success. Plays a key role driving continuous improvement and leading strategic imperatives to enable KCNSC today and tomorrow. This position has responsibility for a staff of six direct reports and an organization of 155 employees. Duties And Responsibilities Drives the vision and strategic execution including interacting with Honeywell and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to bring best practices to business strategy development and manage the execution of those business strategies and objectives. Leads Nuclear Weapon Program activities, including creating the business processes and infrastructure required to sustain planned growth and to ensure integration with all other business processes and functions. Leads KCNSC strategic imperatives and mentors strategic projects that incorporate customer inputs to deliver national security solutions for generations to come. Directs weapons enterprise integration through specific projects and interactions with other labs, plant, and sites to further the interests and effectiveness of the NNSA. Responsible for providing the strategic direction to Nuclear Weapons Programs division, promoting capabilities, defining value proposition, and identifying key messaging and customer interactions. Identifies adjacencies, pull-through opportunities, and white-space for business growth to inform annual operating plan (AOP) and strategy development. Establishes future year spend plans for program offices that incorporates out year demand picture that also informs our enterprise business plan (EBP). Responsible for leadership, direction, talent acquisition, development, and retention of the Nuclear Weapons Program team across customers and accounts. Accountable for the execution of monthly milestone plans, goals, and objectives for the team. Accountable for ensuring execution of nuclear weapons related NNSA and Strategic Partnership Project (SPP) demand and funding. Assigns meaningful and challenging targets to ensure business objectives are met, tracks progress against targets, and ensures corrective action is executed to resolve issues and mitigate risks. Works across Business and Functions to ensure customer commitments are met as well as holds business accountable for spend plan execution. You Must Have Master’s degree in engineering, marketing, or business management. 15 or more years progressive experience in aerospace/defense business sales, technical, marketing, business development, program management or other related area 10 Years of experience in directly managing a team. Demonstrated experience in leading large growth opportunities (>$10M). Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations). Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job. We Value Defense industry program management preferred, knowledge of NNSA/DOE and government rules and regulations preferred. Financial acumen and business strategy expertise to make and/or recommend large scale business direction decisions. Entrepreneurial spirit while having ability to work through existing matrixed environment; demonstrated strength in influencing skills both internally to Honeywell, and amongst industry leaders, high level Military customers and Capitol Hill. Working knowledge of business and financial fundamentals (Profit & Loss, Investment Analysis, Green Sheet). Ability to interact tactfully with all levels of management and customers and to work with stakeholders and team members at all levels of the business. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills. Self-starter; driven to achieve goals and objectives, proven relationships with customers.
