Supply Chain Director - Manufacturing GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Manufacturing Supply Chain Leader serves as the single point of contact for all aspects of Supply Chain activities. This position will be responsible for establishing an effective, integrated supply chain process and identifying, defining, and implementing improvements across the supply chain. This role manages warehouse operations, the supply chain function, customer program management personnel, and is the plant process owner for sourcing, material planning, production scheduling, and inventory management. The position involves strategic analysis, development, guidance, and implementation for supply chain development, supporting individual program needs and aligning with Vanguard Soap's overall supply chain goals. SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
The Manufacturing Supply Chain Leader oversees and optimizes facets of the supply chain to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost-effectiveness. This multifaceted, hands-on leadership role includes strategic sourcing, production scheduling, customer program management, warehousing, inventory control, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: Strategic Planning & Execution Team Leadership & Development Strategic Sourcing & Materials Management Warehousing & Inventory Optimization Production Scheduling & Coordination Customer Program Management Cost Management & Continuous Improvement Risk Management and Mitigation Cross-functional Collaboration Performance Monitoring and Reporting In summary, this role is essential in orchestrating strategic sourcing, optimizing inventory, ensuring timely production, and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction through effective program management and organizational collaboration. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus. APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification is advantageous. Lean Six Sigma certification and continuous improvement experience are preferred. At least ten years of proven experience in supply chain, strategic sourcing, materials management, warehouse operations, and production scheduling. Minimum of five years in a leadership role, with strong leadership and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems (QAD experience is a plus). Strong analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving skills. Excellent negotiation, contract management, and influencing capabilities. Experience in warehouse and inventory management, manufacturing, and organizational engagement.
