This position provides clerical and customer service support for department accounting, real estate, and elections functions. This position supervises the write-in board during elections. Job duties include: Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance. Opens, sorts, and distributes mail. Processes voter registrations; scans and indexes election records. Organizes and schedules poll worker training and orientation; prepares poll worker database and training materials. Acts as the back-up to the Payroll Administrator. Reviews and accepts budgets and nomination papers. Archives all Board of Supervisors agendas, minutes and resolutions. Maintains office calendars. Updates social media accounts. Designs, maintains, and updates a variety of forms, spreadsheets, and other documents. Manages the county's physical key inventory and maintains records for ID badges. Performs related duties. Qualifications: Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. One to two years related work experience or service. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of customer service principles and practices. Knowledge of modern office principles and practices. Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. Advances level knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Skill in problem solving. Skill in prioritizing and planning. Skill in interpersonal relations. Skill in oral and written communication. Physical requirements/Work environment: The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. The work is typically performed in an office. Eligible to telecommute in limited situations with the approval of the County Auditor. Long Term Disability which covers 66.66% of the employee's monthly salary after a 120 day waiting period - Premium fully paid by the County. Term Life Insurance policy of $50,000 for the employee - Premium fully paid by the County. Supplemental Term Life Insurance available for the employee and eligible dependents - Premium paid fully by the employee. Flex Spending Account (pre-tax) Premium paid by employee. Medical: $2750/year limit; Dependent Care: $5000/year limit. 11 paid holidays per year. 1 floating holiday per year. Vacation time Regular, full-time Department Heads/Elected Officials starting at 4.62 hours/pay period (120 hours/year); Regular, full-time employee accrual starting at 3.08 hours/pay period (80 hours/year); Regular, full-time, 24 or 48 hour shift EMS employee accrual starting at 2.31 hours/pay period (60 hours/year). Sick time Regular, full-time employee accrual at 5.54 hours/pay period (144 hours/year); Regular, full-time, 24 or 48 hour shift EMS employee accrual at 7.75 hours/pay period (201.6 hours/year).
