Server at The Classic Grill
Madden's is an award-winning resort, located on more than 1,000 acres, that anticipates the wishes and desires of vacationers and offers them fantastic golf, upscale dining, lakeside spa, tennis, activity programs for children, biking, shopping, and art gallery with painting classes and almost every kind of on-the-water recreation possible in Minnesota, including fishing. Madden's is currently seeking the position of Server at The Classic Grill. This position serves guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner for restaurant operations. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating. Describe specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offer suggestions of menu items when appropriate. Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guests promptly after preparation. Follows-up with guest, within 2 minutes, to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed. Begins to clear and reset tables within 4 minutes of guest leaving. Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests. Maintains organized workstation and side work duties. Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sales System. Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders. Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques. Practices tray service for all food and beverage service. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance. Regular and reliable attendance. Performs other duties as required. Skills and Abilities: Organized, great communication, decisive & flexible. Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills. Great decision-making skills. Must be able to work alongside other people and independently. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors and markets is essential. Time management. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Work is performed in multiple outlets and facilities. Physical Demands: Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly. Expected Hours of Work: 8:00am 4:30pm Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends. Travel: Less than 10% travel required.
