AWS Specialist Solutions Architect
AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain-specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve. SSAs craft scalable, flexible, and resilient technical architectures that address those challenges. The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customer's most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development, specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO, you'll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. The WWSO Cloud Operations team helps customers optimize their Cloud Operations journey by leveraging AWS Cloud Operations services to innovate and unlock new potential. As a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect on the Cloud Operations team, you will create be responsible for executing technical activities on GTM motions for AWS Cloud Operations services to expand adoption of these services into new or existing customer portfolios. This position will help worldwide customers adopt services such as, Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon OpenSearch Service, Amazon Managed Service for Prometheus, Amazon Managed Grafana, and AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry. Key job responsibilities: Represent the voice of the customer; bring customer feedback to product teams to influence feature development and future product roadmap. Provide advanced technical knowledge to your domain aligned GTM teams to unblock our customers' largest and most critical business challenges. Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re: Invent, etc. Partner with Business Development teams to define the technical components of best in class GTM concepts, solutions, and initiatives. Develop and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts worldwide. Create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate Amazon Web Services solutions into customer architectures. About the team: This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, systems engineering, security, database architecture and networking experience Experience implementing OpenSearch in an enterprise environment Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C# and performing infrastructure automation and deployment using AWS CDK or Terraform Experience working with end user or developer communities Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
