Reporting to the Executive Services Senior Manager, this role requires extensive experience in executive protection, including domestic and international operations. This position includes traveling domestically/internationally up to 40%. Executive Protection & Security Planning
Support security planning, logistics, and implementation for executive travel, events, and functions, including domestic and international trips, Executive Committee meetings, Board of Director meetings, shareholder meetings, and other corporate activities Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks impacting executive leadership or major corporate events Develop and implement safety plans for routine and threat-based scenarios Conduct advance planning for travel, hotels, and event venues; brief executives and staff on safety protocols Provide on-site security for events as needed, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams, external agencies, and law enforcement personnel Team Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and oversee third-party protective services staff Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, law enforcement, and security vendors Participate in training programs and exercises to enhance organizational preparedness for security-related incidents Intelligence & Risk Management
Monitor risks impacting the organization and develop strategies to mitigate them Collect and analyze protective intelligence, travel alerts, and logistical information to proactively plan security assignments Assist the Senior Executive Services Manager in post-assignment assessments and recommend improvements for protective services protocols Corporate Event Security
Review global corporate events to determine executive protection needs Coordinate security arrangements with Corporate Events and Security teams, ensuring adequate coverage Operational Oversight
Assist in the execution of the Executive Services Strategy Assist with the management of the vehicle fleet and ensure all company vehicles and equipment are maintained and ready for service Conduct investigations related to threats against Medtronic leaders and oversee adherence to workplace violence and threat management protocols Emergency Response & Crisis Management
Maintain readiness to respond to evolving risks, emergencies, medical incidents, or security breaches Provide emergency medical support when necessary Documentation & Policy Development
Execution of the implement policies, procedures, standards, and checklists to support Executive Services functions Ensure compliance with established security practices and recommend corrective actions Must Haves
Bachelors degree and 5+ years of physical security experience OR advanced degree and 3+ years of experience Nice to Have
Masters degree and 10+ years of experience in public safety, law enforcement, or security Certification as an armed security officer (or ability to obtain) Extensive experience in executive protection including close protection, event coverage, advance work, international travel security, defensive and evasive driving, firearms, self-defense, and medical response Strong networks within law enforcement and peer institutions Advanced certifications in close protection Expertise in travel security, operational security, and physical security technology Background in investigations and report writing Proven ability to navigate complex matrixed organizations and manage competing priorities effectively Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to work under stressful conditions while maintaining professionalism and discretion Knowledge of geopolitical, economic, and security environments Project management expertise; certifications Physical Job Requirements

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $101,600.00 - $152,400.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others). The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
