Northern Virginia locations = $18.59/hr. This position is a wage position and is limited to 29 hours per week with no benefits, not to exceed 1500 hours per year for accurate information. Key responsibilities: Learn Virginia ABC full product portfolio to provide customers with the best shopping experience and connect them to the right product(s) Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting and establishing a rapport with customers while informing them of our products and services Project a positive shopping experience and act quickly to resolve customer questions and concerns Checking IDs and observing customers to determine legality of sales Learn new technology Maintain store visual presentation according to Virginia ABC merchandising guidelines Maintain shelf stock and displays to enhance product availability Operate an electronic POS (point of sale) terminal including scanning equipment Perform accurate cashier functions and account for personal cash shortages Assisting customers with loading merchandise as requested Unload shipments and place stock within the stockroom Accurately assemble and verify licensee orders Maintain store safety standards Ownership of store cleanliness and assist in maintaining standards throughout the store Job requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age Ability to effectively lift and physically maneuver at least 65 lbs on a repetitive basis Experience working with the general public Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires Ability to use technology applicable to the position and to complete daily responsibilities Experience working in a team environment requiring professional and effective communication skills Desire to continually develop retail sales skills and knowledge of product and services Strong interpersonal skills necessary for establishing customer and team relationships Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment Preferred experience and skills: Some working experience as a store associate or customer service representative is a plus Experience with electronic point of sale systems (POS) activities or scanning equipment Experience working in an alcohol beverage industry (i.e. liquor store, bar, vendor rep or establishment that sells alcoholic products) Schedule requirements: Truck delivery days: hours may be outside of normal business hours Work hours may vary week to week and cannot exceed 29 hours in a single work week Willing to work various shifts and weekly work schedules including Saturdays, Sundays, some holidays and during inclement weather Inventory days: may work past midnight and/or other times when the store is normally closed The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority does not provide sponsorship.
