Travel Network Technician
Seeking Traveling Network Technicians for a 10-12 month project. The project will be swapping out different networking equipment, including: Cisco Routers + Switches, firewalls, Wireless Access Points (WAPs), etc. Top skills: decommissioning + configuring + troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls racking + stacking servers good oral + written communications skills. This project will be supporting the newly built DoDNET and helping get the agencies ready to migrate prepared for that migration by upgrading outdated equipment across the world. Travel will be mostly CONUS but there is a chance there will be some OCONUS travel. This is a high visibility project and is imperative to the success of the program + mission. Additional skills & qualifications: This is a role where they will be traveling 80-90% of the time, as there are 250-300 sites that 10 teams will have to get to across the country and some sites that sit overseas. An active passport would be a very big nice to have. There also has to be some comfortability with being away from home during the work week for a good portion of the year. Employee value proposition (EVP): This is an opportunity to do mission critical work getting the largest agency migrated onto the network to date. They will get an opportunity to travel the United States. Work environment: 80-90% travel. The 10-20% that is not can be worked from home. Home base for the program and where the equipment is being shipped out of is Fort Meade.
