Senior Business Analyst
HMH Hospitals Corporation seeks a Senior Business Analyst for its Edison, NJ location. Duties include working within the Data & Analytics group to help develop and maintain data and analytics systems to support the operations of the entire HMH network. The role involves analyzing business processes, system integrations, and large datasets, and designing system improvements as needed. The Senior Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business stakeholders, product leadership, and the technical team, translating business requests and user stories into functional system requirements and technical specifications that aid design, development, and testing of software and data storage. This role serves as the day-to-day contact for the team on clarification of requirements and drives user stories. It also involves exercising strong decision-making mandate across the team as a proxy to the Product Owners and staying in sync with the Product Owners on priorities and the day-to-day decision making. The Senior Business Analyst works with the technical teams to clarify user requirements and ensures that the teams have everything needed to begin development work. They evaluate how various project teams perform, ensure that the teams meet targets and deadlines, and maintain a backlog 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team. They identify risks in meeting delivery timelines and proactively communicate impediments and ensure timely resolution. The role also assists the technical team in preparation and execution of test cases that will ensure adequate test coverage on the user story acceptance criteria. Define, implement, and track performance metrics once a solution enters production, as well as prepare and support the teams on product demos. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field plus 3 years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst or computer systems analyst or a closely related occupation within the healthcare or health insurance industry. Experience with gathering business requirements and creating technical specifications documents with feature descriptions and prioritization for health care provider domains; developing financial models utilizing applied knowledge of agile methodology, including leading ceremonies, and creating work in Asana or Jira; reading and interpreting coding languages including SQL and python; reviewing and analyzing healthcare related datasets such as claims data, quality data, clinical data, financial data to develop projections, infer trends, and develop recommendations for data visualizations; developing project documentation including Business Requirements Documents, Wireframes, Technical Documents, Scoping Documents, Project Charters and Agile work boards is required. The role may work remotely but must work at the Edison, NJ location five (5) days per month. Salary range is $130,685.25 to $153,358.00/yr; full-time.
