Accounts Payable Specialist

Overview Ensures appropriate processing of Sentara payables, including administering policies and procedures, electronic matching, and proper backup and approval for employee reimbursements, travel, and payments. Performs invoice research, collaborates with Materials Management, departments, and vendors to administer contracts, sets up and monitors recurring payments, calculates sales tax, and collects 1099 information. Ensures proper setup, accruals, and balancing of journal entries to the general ledger, processes and reconciles checks, conducts audits on out-of-town travel, and communicates with management on accounts payable issues. Works with transmitting invoices via Excel, CD, EDI, EFT, and ACH transactions.
