Principal Software Engineer

The Raytheon team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to support our radar programs and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class radar and command and control (C2) software for our customers' wide array of surveillance and warning systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. The job location for this opportunity is in Woburn, Massachusetts. What You Will Do:
Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site multiple times a year. Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline. Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada Experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance Ability to obtain interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts Experience with current missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development environment; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
