We are searching for an experienced, motivated, and team-oriented individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our dynamic team at the Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development as a Senior Planner. If selected for this position, you will be joining the Planning & Zoning team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining public planning policies and programs to manage land use, transportation and economic growth within the County. As a Senior Planner, you will be involved in complex planning research and analysis and may be responsible for providing team direction to a small group of Planners assigned to specific planning projects. You will also be responsible for researching, analyzing, evaluating, and reviewing complex land use applications for compliance with local and state regulations as well as advising the public and various agencies on procedures and requirements relating to land use planning. The Senior Planner classification is the advanced journey level position in the Planner series, consisting of Planner Trainee, Planner 1, Planner 2, Senior Planner, and Principal Planner. In this role, you will have a key responsibility of preparing land use decisions and presenting various written and oral reports and recommendations that concern the physical, environmental, and economic conditions of Clackamas County. Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills: At least five (5) years of experience in local, regional, or statewide land use planning At least three (3) years of experience providing excellent customer service to the public as well as to other external and internal stakeholders within various levels of organization Experience leading projects and project teams Experience conducting research, collecting and analyzing data, and making recommendations based on the findings Clackamas County does not offer visa sponsorships.
