Principal Data Scientist

Fidelity Workplace Investing is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to support initiatives around personalization and customization. This position will work with technical professionals in engineering and with managers of market research and product development teams. The assignments may include exploratory analysis, feature engineering, experimentation, forecasting, numerical optimization, real time model and LLM. As Data Scientists, we support projects across many areas and ensure the highest degree of quality. You must be a great teammate who thrives in a small, highly effective work environment and communicates with confidence to all levels of Workplace Investing. The ideal Data Scientist handles projects from start to finish. i.e., they can work with website professionals on experimental design, gather required data in any shape and size, process it into useful features, train machine learning models, and assist technical teams to move models into production and measure business results. The Skills You Bring: Statistical and data science programming with proficiency in Python and SQL. Experience writing testable, modular code. Expert in training regression and classification models using typical ML algorithms, data extraction and feature engineering, creating model documentation, and explaining model output (such as features and performance) to non-technical audiences. Extensive experience in developing and/or deploying scalable AI solutions using LLM, knowledge graph, reinforcement learning, optimization, and/or real-time models to solve business problems. Independently lead data science projects from end to end. Conduct technical reviews and mentor junior data scientists. Experiences in financial services and marketing a plus. Committed to continuous learning and able to pick up new knowledge quickly. Education: PhD with 2+ years of working experiences or Master's Degree with 5+ years working experiences in a quantitative field (e.g. Statistics, Computer Sciences, Operational Research, Data Science or Applied Mathematics), with applied research experience.
