Principal Data Scientist

Fidelity Workplace Investing is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to support initiatives around healthcare personalization and customization. You will lead data science projects at the intersection of machine learning and healthcare, working with business partners, data engineers, software developers, and other data scientists. You will be a subject matter expert, guiding artificial intelligence roadmaps and keeping up with the latest developments. The assignments may include exploratory analysis, feature engineering, experimentation, forecasting, numerical optimization, and real time scoring. The Expertise and Skills You Bring: MS in data science, statistics, or similar quantitative field; PhD and training in epidemiology and public health is a plus

Proven track record, over several years, in conceptualizing, planning, leading, and developing data science models; project work in medical cost prediction is a plus

Expert in training regression and classification models using typical ML algorithms (LLM is a plus), creating model documentation, and explaining model output (such as features and performance) to non-technical audiences (Consulting experience is a plus)

Demonstrated experience working with healthcare data, including claims with its various codes such as ICD-10 and CPT, is preferred

Knowledgeable about machine learning, causal inference, and statistics (familiarity with advanced public health, health benefit design and real-world evidence discovery studies is a big plus)

Proficient in SQL and Python with an ability to design, train, and code up machine learning and statistical models (experience with Sagemaker, Snowflake is a plus)

Committed to continuous learning and able to pick up new knowledge quickly

Experience with the full stack of data science: Data extraction, cleaning, and preparation
