The
Senior IT Manager - Data Protection (Remote)
will be responsible for overseeing data protection strategies, governance, and operations to safeguard AbbVie's critical data assets. This role involves managing cybersecurity activities, supporting compliance, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information. The position can be virtual anywhere in the U.S. Responsibilities Lead data protection governance, strategy, and operational execution. Establish and maintain relationships with IT and business stakeholders to ensure effective data security practices. Oversee cybersecurity activities related to data protection, including risk assessments and control testing. Report on data protection status and metrics to senior leadership. Support the Data Protection Governance Committee with documentation, meetings, and follow-up. Coordinate with development teams to ensure operational and reporting requirements are met for data security tools and dashboards. Monitor and improve data protection processes and controls. Maintain accurate records of data assets, suppliers, and applications, involving business and IT owners throughout their lifecycle. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards for data security. Contribute to safeguarding AbbVie's vital digital assets through innovative security measures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; Master's Degree with 7+ years; PhD with 3+ years, or equivalent experience in IT or Information Security. Experience managing cybersecurity operations, including vendor relationships and SLAs. Proficiency with ITIL Framework and risk mitigation strategies. CISSP certification preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
