Northrop Grumman Space Systems Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems SE Architecture Team Lead (24-498) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations and manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems. The team lead is the first line of leadership for all SE Architecture team members and reports to the SE Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate metrics of team progress, supporting team staffing, and ensuring compliance with SE Architecture team processes. Essential Functions: Must understand systems engineering, architecture, systems design, development, and integration
Experience working across organizations to define solutions
Ability to analyze high-level needs and refine those into an integrated set of requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications: An active Secret clearance is required to start
Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, or a Masters degree with 6 years of experience
Proven track record of applying systems engineering principles
Experience developing system engineering artifacts (Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies)
Experience using systems engineering tools for requirements management (e.g.,
DOORS )
Experience working in an integrated team environment
Preferred Qualifications: Experience using C2BMC processes and methods
Knowledge of C2BMC architecture
Experience in Ballistic Missile defense
