Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems - SE Architecture Team Lead (24-498) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. The team lead is the first line of leadership for all SE Architecture team members and reports to the SE Engineering Manager. They are responsible for maintaining accurate metrics of team progress, supporting all team staffing responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with SE Architecture team processes. Some travel is required. Essential Functions: Must understand systems engineering, architecture, systems design, development, and integration Experience working across organizations to define solutions Ability to analyze high-level needs and refine them into an integrated set of requirements Working directly with multiple customer organizations and contractor organizations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic Qualifications: An active Secret clearance is required to start Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience, or Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of experience Proven track record of applying systems engineering principles to develop product solutions Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as specifications, interface control documents, use cases, system architecture descriptions, and trade studies Experience using systems engineering tools for requirements management (e.g., DOORS ) Experience working in an integrated team environment Engineering leadership experience System-of-system definition and integration practices Agile Iteration Planning experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience using C2BMC processes and methods Knowledge of C2BMC architecture and implementation Experience in ballistic missile defense Leading/performing portions of the work and directing the activities of other systems engineers What We Can Offer You: Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
