Intermediate Level Software Developer
We are looking for an **Intermediate Level Software Developer** to support the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control systems by providing software development and simulation expertise at the William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTC). Will provide various tasks to support test (development for automated testing) as well as field support activities. Position Requirements: 7-10 years' experience in FAA NAS (National Airspace System) Experience with Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.) Proficiency in programming languages (C++, Java, JavaScript and SQL) Strong understanding of core JavaScript concepts and expertise in TypeScript Expertise in building user interfaces with HTML and styling with CSS, including responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility. Experience consuming and interacting with RESTful APIs for data exchange with backend services. Proficiency with Git or other version control systems for collaborative development. Familiarity with JavaScript build tools like npm, webpack, or similar tools for managing dependencies and optimizing applications. Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift's architecture and deployment mechanism. Proficiency in Linux, including system configuration, troubleshooting, and scripting. Experience working in an Agile environment with iterative development and collaboration. Experience developing technical documentation. Excellent communications and presentation skills. Required onsite 5 days a week at the WJHTC. Familiar with WJHTC laboratory operations and configurations. Willing to work occasional off-shift. Works independently with minimal supervision. Develops new technology, modifies the structure of existing software products, and provides technical guidance to complex projects. Full-Time Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or a related field of study Salary Range $75,000 - $85,000 annually Available Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance.
