Hours of Work :FT - 40 HOURS/WEEKDays Of Week :Sun-SatWork Shift :Job Description :The Nurse Manager of Patient Placement Operations works closely with Methodist Healthcare System (MHS) medical staff, administrators, department heads, nursing staff and outlying facilities and their physicians to coordinate appropriate placement of patients within the system (and hospitals) in a timely manner. Responsible for leading, organizing, inspiring all members of the placement team, and accountability. Works independently and interdependently with hospital and corporate systems to accomplish efficient, cost effective, quality patient care. Responsible for the operations of the department, while overseeing the schedule and ensuring staff and equipment is available to provide service to the staff and patients. The Nurse Manager is responsible for hiring, disciplinary action, and yearly reviews for the staff. In this role, will act as an expert clinical resource with regards to nursing while supporting the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System.Job Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of NursingBachelor of Science in Nursing required2 years healthcare leadership experience preferred with knowledge of transfer center/hospital operationsMust have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of TexasWorks cooperatively with hospital leaders to communicate issues of concern and processes to optimize patient through putResponsible for ensuring cooperation and positive interaction between the Patient Management Center and physicians, nursing leaders and nursing staffResponsible for the 24 hour, day-to-day operations of the Patient Management CenterOversees and coordinates successful transfer and bed placement of all patientsBuilds and maintains a high functioning patient placement teamEnsures all team members work together to assure all aspects of patient placement occur in an organized and timely mannerLeads the transfer center project operational team in collaboration with the selected software vendor to accomplish all project implementation goals according to proposed project timeline and go-live target dateJob Responsibilities: Keeps system leadership informed of initiatives, progress, issues and opportunities to improve patient throughputUnderstands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goalsMust learn and comply with System and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisors; must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by job duties; and must check with supervisors (prior to job performance) if there is a question as to the safe procedure to be used for any job functionBe accountable for your performanceAlways look for ways to improve the patient experienceTake initiative for your professional growthBe engaged and eager to build a winning teamSupports the mission and vision of the Methodist Healthcare System and demonstrates excellent customer service at all timesUnderstands and is committed to helping the Methodist Healthcare System and its associated facilities achieve its goalsAdheres to the MHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behavior as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community.
