About the Cook PositionOur restaurant is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead Cook to join our kitchen staff! As a Lead Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing excellent meals for our patrons while also maintaining your station and keeping track of inventory.Excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to multitask. Working in the kitchen means working in a fast-paced environment, so you'll need to stay organized to keep our customers satisfied.Cook ResponsibilitiesSet up and maintain the workstation, ensuring everything is well stocked, orderly and cleanPrepare, cook, and assemble ingredients for various dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.Ensure that all dishes are of high-quality and follow company recipesReport any equipment issues to managementMonitor inventory, ordering new food and supplies as necessaryResolve issues with customers' orders as neededKeep the kitchen neat and tidy, ensuring everything is sanitized appropriatelyFollow all health and safety guidelinesAssist other cooks as neededCook RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredCulinary school training preferred[2+] years of experience as a Cook, and experience reading and independently executing against Banquet Event OrdersKnowledge of kitchen best practices, including safe knife handling and cooking methodsExcellent attention to detail, multitasking, and communication skillsMust be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, with flexible availability to be scheduled based on operational need of the F&B departmentMust be able to remain on your feet for long periods of time and lift [25+] pounds
