Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is seeking reliable

Drivers

for part-time employment .

A class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement is required.

The Driver safely operates Brethren Village vehicles, including shuttle buses and/or our Medical Van, to transport Residents throughout the Brethren Village campus, as well as off-campus. The Driver picks-up and drops-off Residents on his/her route and according to schedule. The Driver assists Residents to get on and off the bus as needed, and assists with loading and unloading Residents' packages.

The Driver consistently interacts with Residents and co-workers in a polite, friendly, and helpful manner, and is able to effectively manage a busy schedule.

A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required - class C with a Passenger endorsement - as well as a driving record free from excessive or serious violation, and verification of personal auto insurance. As a condition of continued employment, the Driver must successfully complete periodic driver training, random drug and alcohol testing, periodic physical exams, and other requirements per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Work Schedule

Part-time:

typically 16 to 24 hours per week; primarily day shift or early evening; work days and hours may vary from week to week and will include periodic weekend work (Brethren Village provides an extra $1.00 per hour for Saturday and Sunday work hours) Requirements

The Driver must, at all times during employment, meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and Brethren Village requirements:

must be at least age 21 must have possessed a valid PA driver's license for at least the prior 2 years, and must maintain a valid PA driver's license during employment must maintain a class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement during employment; must be able to safely operate a commercial vehicle must be able to safely drive vehicles during all weather conditions (rain, snow) must maintain CPR certification must have a minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience must be able to read and speak English, per DOT requirements must have a driving record free from excessive or serious violations and accidents, including but not limited to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or suspension of driving privileges must be willing to provide certification from prior employers, if applicable, of no positive tests for drugs or alcohol over the past 2 years must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate, or be able to obtain one upon hire must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol tests when scheduled must have a basic understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements must possess effective interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation; willingness to consistently interact in a polite and professional manner with Residents and co-workers must be able to safely help Residents on and off vehicles, and safely load and secure wheelchairs
