Solid Waste Services Position

The Solid Waste Services Division of Edmond Public Works provides waste collection and disposal services to residential households and commercial establishments within Edmond. Services include collection of weekly waste, curbside recycling, monthly bulk items, and city-coded bag disposal. Basic Duties of the Position: Operate heavy-duty packer refuse collection trucks. Dump residential carts or commercial style containers into the truck. Transport waste to the transfer station. May include servicing roll off containers. Leave notifications for customers and report to supervisor regarding violations of regulations. Read & understand route sheets to determine street address & type of services needed. Leave notice messages and/or instructions to homeowners about special services. Maintain equipment by performing minor vehicle maintenance, such as checking tire inflation, cleaning the cab, and washing the truck's exterior. Report any maintenance needs to the supervisor or to the garage. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred) Two years related experience in solid waste management (preferred) Valid Class "B" Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License with required endorsements For those without a CDL license, the City of Edmond can provide financial assistance in obtaining a CDL License.
