Job Title
Perform semi-skilled and skilled technical work in the maintenance, installation, repair, and support for servers, PCs, network infrastructure, peripherals, and communications equipment. Receives general supervision from upper level supervisory and management staff. May exercise functional and technical supervision over maintenance and operation staff. Essential Functions: Regular attendance that is punctual and dependable. Display honest, trustworthy, and ethical behavior when dealing with internal and external customers. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Develop, implement, and maintain IT policy recommendations including computer/network use and procurement of hardware and software. Ensure compliance of PC software Licensing. Maintain and troubleshoot wireless networks. Generate reports for user departments; review input material. Support City and Utility divisions, including 24/7 operations such as Police, Fire, and 911 Dispatch Center. Responsible for the setup of all types of technology based devices and adding them to the network with proper operating systems installed. Maintain a variety of records regarding computer operations including inventory, problem documentation, emails and actions taken. Program applications and diagnose problems with smartphones/tablets and other communication devices. Installation and maintenance of local area network hardware and software. Procurement, installation, and maintenance of personal computers and smartphones/tablets. Install and update personal computer software. Assist in training staff on use of personal computers, smartphones/tablets, and software. Perform related duties as assigned. Knowledge of: Variety of software products being used by different departments within the City. Network-security of hardware and peripheral equipment. Basic and advanced principles of network.
