Design, develop, and successfully implement research and development products from concept to release in a multi-disciplinary environment. Perform electro-magnetic machine design analyses to support product design. Develop complex circuit design at the PCB level for diverse applications, such as analog/digital control, HMI development in real-time embedded applications. Collaborate with a team of engineers, technicians, and designers through each phase of the product design and development program.

Responsibilities

Define the research and development steps required to successfully take an idea from concept to product release, including defining and maintaining precise resource requirements to complete projects. Perform electro-magnetic machine design analysis (including coil designs) for high-power applications using proper engineering calculations. Design, build, test, and debug complex analog and digital circuitry at the PCB level. Create design schematics for new and modified PCB equipment using Altium software. Design, write, and debug real-time software to provide various functionalities on circuit boards. Work closely with software, hardware, and manufacturing engineering disciplines to plan, design, and develop systems to ensure compatibility and performance of the software and hardware. Create control schematics adhering to design codes and regulations. Generate production ready drawings as required with proper techniques. Adhere to all national and/or international design codes and regulations. Design and conduct lab test programs to evaluate new prototype products to meet specifications. Design and build test fixtures and write test procedures for PCB production testing. Evaluate equipment performance and provide solutions in lab, production, and field environments. Evaluate product lines for third party certification (UL, CSA, CE), determine the scope of the project, identify issues, and provide solutions. Develop documentation for use by engineering, sales, manufacturing, third party testing laboratories, suppliers, and customers. Supervise technical staff on relevant R&D projects. Present project progress reports to R&D and corporate management. Travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities and field installations for equipment evaluation. Requirements
