Data Center Technical Operations Engineer

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technical Operations Engineer, Facility to oversee engineering operations within one of our state-of-the-art data centers. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical facility operations, vendor management, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work aligns with established procedures and safety standards. Establish performance benchmarks, conduct operational analyses, and generate reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance. Collaborate with IT managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant performance and reliability. Operate and manage both routine and emergency services across critical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, CRAC units, and building monitoring systems. Support the design and build-out of new facilities and contribute to projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency. Oversee asset and inventory management to ensure accurate tracking and availability of critical components. Participate in recruiting efforts to build a high-performing technical team. Deliver exceptional service and ensure all customer requirements and SLAs are consistently met. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or Technical Degree (Military/Trade School) in a relevant field. 3+ years of relevant work experience in facility or data center operations. 3+ years of experience in a management or supervisory role. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven leadership and organizational abilities. High attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, complex environment. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Data Center Engineering. 3+ years of experience in Data Center Management. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Fundamental knowledge of network design, layout, and low-voltage cabling (copper/fiber).
