This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department. Essential Responsibilities Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%) Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%) Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%) Anticipates adverse reactions/conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%) Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival (10%) Performs all other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Minimum 3 years in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International ACLS Certification Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.
