This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost-effective functioning of the department. Essential Responsibilities: Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%) Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%) Orients inexperienced staff on the operation of laboratory equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%) Anticipates adverse reactions / conditions when monitoring the effects of all procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%) Completes required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image storage and archival. (10%) Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology. Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) -OR- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) -OR- Radiography (R)
OR-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification issued by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International ACLS Critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment. CPR
