Public Relations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Relations Manager to elevate our corporate brand reputation, strengthen executive visibility, and align our internal values with compelling external messaging. This role will serve as the primary liaison with our PR agency, coordinating proactive media efforts, issue management, and storytelling initiatives that reflect the company's purpose and DRIVE behaviors. As the lead for our external communications efforts, you will work closely with internal communications, corporate affairs, and senior leaders to ensure a cohesive voice across all channels. Key Responsibilities
Act as the day-to-day point of contact for the company's PR agency, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and messaging. Develop and review press materials, media lists, and briefing documents. Pitch and coordinate earned media opportunities aligned with business priorities and campaign themes. Lead media readiness planning and support for executive spokespeople. Executive Visibility
Create and execute visibility plans for senior leaders including media interviews, award nominations, and speaking opportunities. Issues & Crisis Communications
Partner with Legal, HR, and Operations to prepare reactive statements and response plans for potential reputational risks. Maintain and update a Crisis Communications Playbook; conduct scenario-based training annually. Campaign & Content Support
Ensure PR campaigns support larger company-wide efforts Monitor trends and news cycles to identify proactive storytelling opportunities that reflect brand purpose. Team Leadership & Development
Supervise and develop the Public Relations Specialist, providing growth opportunities and mentorship. Foster cross-functional collaboration with internal communications, marketing, HR, and corporate affairs teams. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field 5-7 years of experience in PR, corporate communications, or media strategy (agency and in-house experience preferred) Proven success in managing PR agencies and building strong media relationships Experience working with executives on visibility and positioning Strong understanding of issue/crisis communications best practices Excellent writing, editing, and strategic thinking skills Preferred Qualifications
Automotive, retail, or Fortune 500 experience Working knowledge of ESG, philanthropy, or CSR communications Familiarity with internal comms strategy and cultural alignment initiatives Key Competencies
